There are three versions of Mercalli plugins for EDIUS:
1. Mercalli V4CMOS Fixr - to correct CMOS sensor error
2. Mercalli V4 Stabilizr - for stabilisation and rolling shutter optimisation
3. Mercalli V4 for EDIUS SUITE - Stabilizr for EDIUS + cmosFIXR for EDIUS + SAL Version: All in one for users who do nothing halfway.
Much has changed compared with the previous version: The stabilisation now takes place at twice the speed of analysis and the accuracy and image quality have been optimised. With the third plug-in version, i.e. for the combination of the other two plug-ins, very complex distortions and image errors which occur repeatedly when recording with action cams can also be corrected.
There is even a cherry on top in this three-pack for EDIUS: The stabilisation plug-in provides an additional function which does not exist elsewhere in the stand-alone version. You will also have the option to seamlessly integrate short and blurry sequences into a longer, otherwise perfect setting. Previously, cutting or fading were needed for this.
With EDIUS, Mercalli now offers the option of having this process run automatically, but also to manually adjust almost all settings. For example, you can keep the fish-eye effect and still stabilise the video perfectly. A highlight is the batch function, which you can use to stabilise multiple videos simultaneously in one work step.
"magic multimedia GmbH" has worked with Mercallias a stand-alone software as well as a plug-in to stabilise and optimise. The following YouTube video shows what Mercalli is capable of, how the software works, and how the video looks after editing:
